Ronin's 1st Allergic Reaction & Haircut!!

We had quite a scare this morning with Ronin, he had an allergic reaction from peanut butter, I had given him the crust off of Mareesa's toast which had some peanut butter on it, I thought that I had given him some before and within 20-30 minutes he had hives all over his face, back and tummy. I called the nurses hot line and she asked me some questions and when I told her that his right eyelid had a little swelling she that I should take him to see the doctor right away. So we got packed up and within 10-15 minutes his face started to clear up and by the time we got to our doctors office it was pretty much gone! Isn't that always the case, anyways my doctor is going to send him to get allergy tested just in case, I know you're not supposed to give peanut or peanut butter till the age of 2.5 or 3 because it is the most highly allergenic food for children but I totally forgot and because Mareesa never had a reaction like this before I was not too worried. Poor baby!! My doctor told us to remove any peanut products out of the house. Great I just bought a big jar of Skippy!! Peanut butter anyone???
Ronin is doing fine now, he just scared us to death!! I'm not good at injuries, blood, allergic reactions!!! I should maybe go to a first aid course just to better myself in these kinds of situations, at least Kal has his first aid, but it wouldn't hurt for me to have it too!!

So after all that was done and taken care of I had to get my eyebrows threaded so I went to my salon, LBC Salon in Willowbrook and while I was there I asked them about cutting Ronins hair and how much they charge......he took one look and said that he needed a short cut to make his hair grow in thicker, so i took his shirt off and he stood on my lap and off came his hair, I wasn't too sure how he was going to cut it but there came the clippers and and Ronin did sooo good!!
He stood still for him and let him cut all his uneven hair, he left the top longer so I can gel it and give him a baby Mohawk!! TOO CUTE!! What a trooper after the morning her had!!!

My first week back........

I made it through my first week of work, it went better than I expected, so far so good!! WHOOO HOOO!!
There were a few new faces but mostly the same people. My position has changed, I am the new Warehouse Liaison and AR assistant, my job is to help both the office and warehouse work smoothly together, any concerns or issues between them is my job to help fix it. When I first started at Anipet I worked in the warehouse picking orders, and I did it for a few years, that was 17 years ago....then I was offered an position in the office as order entry and customer service, and pretty much worked there for most of my years, I was given another opportunity to work as a salesrep and I accepted and did that for 2 years, but wanted to work back in the office, I really didn't like the driving aspect of it and would get stressed out. So because of my experience they thought that I would be able to work well with warehouse and the office.(or else they didn't have anything else for me to do so they made the position up for me...hahaha) Oh well I don't really mind it, but we'll see how it goes in the coming months.

Back to work for me...........

Well all I have to say is that this last year has flown by way tooo fast!!! I can't believe I'm going back to work on monday. I've already been getting my email from work and it scared me there for a second, at least I'll only be working monday thru thursday from 8:30 - 5pm, my new position is Invoice coordinator.......so its my responsibility to make sure that every single item that leaves the building has to its correct paperwork. WOW..... so exciting!!!!! hahaha

There has been alot of drama going down there so it will be interesting to see it for myself. The one good thing about going back to work is that I got to go back to work shopping, I went to Old Navy yesterday with Mareesa and my mom and we had sooo much fun!! There is a 20% off sale right now so we got some really good deals. I was entering the store with a feeling that I wasn't going to find anything or that nothing would fit me, I brought in an armful of clothes to the changeroom and to my surprise I liked almost everything that I had tried on. So my dilema was to pick which ones I wanted to buy. In the end I bought 5 pairs of dress pants a pair of shoes, a trench coat and some tshirts for Ronin and all I spent was $200. buckaroos!! I think I saved close to $100 dollars!! I love sales like that!!

So wish me luck on my first day back............I'll be reporting my day to you all on monday!!

Ronin's 1st Birthday!!

So our little boy turned "1" on saturday, I can't believe it!! We had a nice backyard party for him, Carnival style. There were lots of balloons, a bouncy castle, slip n slide and a clown!! We were very lucky with the weather, it was a nice and hot sunny day. Ronin wasn't quite sure what was going on but I think he had lots of fun, along with all his friends who came to celebrate with us. I think he especially loved the cake he got to devour all over him!! TOO CUTE!!

I asked Kal if he would mind dressing up as a clown for the party and he didn't mind at all, I think he thought that if he did it, then I wouldn't hire one for the party, he did a great job and even made balloon animals for all the kids. He spent the night before practicing his balloon animal techniques, he had about four animals down pat, a monkey, kitty, giraffe and a bumble bee and of course a snake......oh and a sword!! Kal was a great sport and everyone loved him!!

He got alot of very nice gifts and was spoiled from his friends, toys, toys and more toys and alot of nice clothes too!! I think everyone had a good time and enjoyed themselves, Ronin is a very lucky boy to have sooo many people in his life that loves him very much!!

1st Annual "Cajucom" Family Picnic

We had our 1st annual Cajucom family Picnic last sunday at Cates Park in North Vancouver, we had planned this for the last month and it was a great success. Cajucom is my moms maiden name, and she has 5 sisters and 2 brothers, there are 5 sisters that live here and total there was 25 of us, and thats not even the whole family a few family members were out of town.


These are all my aunties and cousins & my mom. I have such a big family and we have so much fun togehter.

We feasted on turkey & buffalo burgers, bbq chicken, salads and lots more!!

We played some games, the egg race, three legged race and everyone had a such great time. I can't remember laughing sooo hard, its so great to get together with family!!


My uncle brought his boat so he and my dad went and dropped a couple of crab traps for a crab feast. We did catch 4 but after they were cooked it took 5 minutes for all of us to eat them up.


It kind of sprinkled a bit but that didn't put a damper on our fun. Was a perfect day for a family picnic. We all had sooo much fun and can't wait till next summer to do it again!!

Steveston Waterpark

Today we decided to go visit the waterpark in Steveston, its a really nice park that Mareesa and Ronin loved!! Mareesa's not usually into going into the water at the parks where we go but she has sooo much fun when we go here. We've been there 3 times now and I don't even mind driving out there to see them have fun. Ronin has been standing on his own now for a couple of weeks and he loves it too!! I've caught him standing there in front of the water sprays just giggling!! Too bad the summer is almost over, I guess we'll have to wait for next summer to enjoy it again, only because the weather hasn't been the greatest this past month......

Mareesa has been taking a creative dance class for 2s... since the first week of July, she has only 1 class left on wednesday. There are 4 other 2 year olds in her class and they are soo cute to watch. They got a new instructor this week and I have to say she was much better than the one before, the new girl was able to keep the girls attention on her and not have then all over the place. The past classes have been the longest 30 minutes of my dayssssss, but they actually had a fun and productive class, was also fun for the mommies to watch!!

Bouncy Castle Fun Day!!

Last friday my friend Susie hosted a afternoon playdate in her backyard, she rented a bouncy castle and invited some moms and their kidlets. We made it a potluck lunch as well, everyone brought some yummy foodies and we had lots of fun!! It was such a success she wants to do it again, there were a few moms that couldn't make it because of holidays and stuff, but hopefully the next one will be as successful.

Mareesa was so silly that day, for some reason she wouldn't go down the slide, I physically had to put her on the top of the slide so that she could see that she was missing out, it's funny because at the park thats all she does, is go up and down the slide for hours...Finally she got into it and maybe she was just being shy, but as soon as most of the kids left she wouldn't get off of it. I'm glad that she had lots of fun with all her friends!!


When she returned the bouncy castle she asked the people where they bought it from and they said Canadian Tire, so she called some stores and was lucky to have found the last one in the lower mainland at the Langley location. Now she owns it and shes going to do the same thing and rent it out for $100. a day. I think I'm going to rent it for Ronin's 1st birthday party, hopefully the weather will still be nice by mid September.

First Step!!

Ronin took his first step this morning all by himself!! YaaaaaaY, and he just happens to be 11months old today too!! Way to go Ronin!! For the past few days I've caught him standing on his own, so it was only a matter of time before he took a step, I'm so glad it happened before I went back to work, now we have to work on a few more at a time!! No pressure baby boy!!

I'm sitting here watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, and remembering when my brother was walking amongst all the canadian athletes 4 years ago in Athens, he was on the baseball team, and it was so exciting seeing him walking there with all the athletes!! It just gave me chills watching all these countries, what a thrill!!

I know its been one month exactly since my last entry, sorry to all my stalkers.......

Not too much has happened around here, we were really lucky to have had such nice weather, so we took full advantage and spent many a days at the waterpark and in the backyard. Mareesa had a one week soccer camp which she loved, her little friend Ryleigh was in it so they ran and chased eachother around the field. She also started creative dance, which is really hard for me because it starts at 9am and she usually sleeps till then, so I have to drag her out of bed and bribe her just to get her there, I hope she'll be better when its school time or i'll be out of luck, not looking forward to that at all!!!!!! Dance class is cute but Mareesa and the other little girls get side tracted very easily which makes it difficult for the instructor, at least its only for half an our. It runs until the end of this month and thats it for her this summer. She'll have to do with just playdates and waterparks.

My baby boy Ronin, he's growing so fast, he's crawling all over the place and he's about ready to start walking I'm sure. He is so cute and I'm hoping that he'll start walking before I go back to work Sept.22, to be exact, which I am dreading more and more each day.......

We spent a week and a half with Kal's parents before they were off again for about 5 months on their European tour, it was nice for the kids to spend that time with them, they travel soo much and we don't want them to miss out in seeing the kids when they are home. We went for a day trip to the states and went shopping at the Burlington Outlets and Bellis Fair mall, Ronin got a new wardrobe for when he's a little bigger, Mareesa has enough clothes right now so the next trip will be for her new wardrobe. We shopped at Carters, that store is awesome for bargains. The kids were really good, seeing that we were putting them in their car seats to their stroller a few times in when we were in the mall we let them have some fun playing around.

Last friday I took the kidlets to Captain Kids fun centre, it was our first time there, I'm not too keen on taking Mareesa and Ronin to places like that without Kal, but we did it, Mareesa had a blast, she loved the climbing and the slides, which I did go down with her, I was really scared, it was so steep, but Mareesa had no fear, there was this cute little boy trying to talk me into going down the slide, which we finally did!! We met with Ryleigh and Mac, Mareesa and Ronin's little friends, they had soo much fun, I guess we'll be going back, maybe next time Kal will be there to enjoy in the fun!!
