Pony Rides

This morning my sister in-law Shauna called me to see if I wanted to take Mareesa to ride some ponies with her twins Markus & Mia, I of course said yes and I was pretty sure Mareesa would love to go. So I woke her up from her deep sleep at 9:30 and with a big smile she said YES!! So we got ready and off we went to the Langley 204 Equestrian Centre.

There were 2 ponies for the kiddies to share, the brown pony her name was Jessica and the smaller one his name was Spud they were really good and very calm. They had a half hour to ride, they were really good at letting each other take turns, except that Mareesa would hold on tight to her saddle and wouldn't let go at first, but then realized she had another turn coming. We would lead the pony around the circle a few times for each kiddie, when our time was up it seemed like an hour had gone by, they had alot of fun riding the ponies and I'm sure that Mareesa will want to go again or even for lessons, although they are very expensive! We'll have to see what we can do.....

Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes

Tomorrow morning we are participating in the Telus walk to Cure Diabetes, Kal called me from work today and asked if we sould do it and I said yes of course, so in less than 1 hour I was able to collect a few pledges totalling $255.00, not bad for short notice, imagine if I had a couple of weeks to collect who knows what I would've been able to get. Kal is a borderline diabetic and we also have family members who have diabetes, so this is very personal for us and would love to help in finding a cure. Thanks to everyone for your support!!

Since 2001 the Greater Vancouver Zoo has been pleased to host and welcome the walkers to the Zoo "free of charge" for the Walk to Cure Diabetes.
Be a hero for the day - come out and show your support for this much worthy cause! For more details go to www.jdrf.ca/walk

Slip & Slide

We were really spoiled last month with such nice weather, we spent alot of playtime at the park and in our backyard. Mareesa loves the water and always wants to play with the hose to water our flowers and plants in the garden, she's always asking me to fill up her water can so I decided to buy her a Step 2 play sink with a water pump. Now she can have fun filling her own can and she can play with as much water as she wants.

While Mareesa is busy playing her little brother gets to watch from a distance in his swing....don't worry Ronin your turn will be here soon!!

We had another play date with the sun and we took full advantage, Mareesa's cousins Markus & Mia and her little friend Dylan from next door came over to join in the fun. They started playing in the sprinkler, and we ended up making a slip & slide out of an old plastic pool we had set up last summer. They were very fearless and started their sliding off the little tykes slide which got them really going, the kiddies loved it and to give them a little more slip I added some baby shampoo, and boy did they fly!! I was so happy to see them slipping and slidding it brought back alot of memories for me from when I was a kid.

Fun in the sun!!

Helloooooooooo...........I'm back!!

Sorry again for the lengthy delay in my blogging........I know I'm a bad blogger!! Shame on me!!

I have to rewind a bit so here it is:

For the long weekend in May we packed up and headed to Richmond to spend a few days with Kal's parents so Mareesa & Ronin could have a sleepover with their "momo & popo". We decided to have a picnic at Queen Elizabeth Park on the saturday and enjoy the nice weather. My cousin Lisa and her husband Gary came along too and brought some goodies!! What a feast we had!!

My cousins Lisa & Gary love spoiling Mareesa which is fine since theyare Mareesa's godparents, Lisa also likes to give her candy, which is why she treated her to a nice big popsicle!!

After we got all cleaned up from that, we decided to take a walk through the conservatory, I haven't been there in ages, we used to go there as kids with all my cousins to get our pictures taken in front of all the pretty flowers!! Wow memories!! Anyways we walked over to the water fountains and Mareesa couldn't wait to get in, she had fun playing in the water and am sure she can't wait to go swimming!! We even let Ronin get a taste of it and put him in there so he could see what all the fuss was about!! What a fun weekend we had!!
